INSTALLING CRANE BOOM

Carefully move the machine up to the cribbed up boom, and line up the holes in the boom foot lugs and the boom foot. Install boom foot pins and secure them with cotter pins. Secure the boom backstops to the gantry sheave shaft. Reeve all lines.

ATTACHING JIB

To attach the jib, proceed as follows.

  1. With the boom approximately horizontal,m secure the jib to the boom point.
  2. Insatall the jib strut on the jib.
  3. Install the jib suspecsion lines from the jib point to the strut and from the strut to the turnbuckle at the boom foot. See Figure 5-1. The jib suspension lines should be adjusted so that the offset angle of the jib to the boom,

NOTE: Boom hoist reevingis the same for dragline operation as for crane operation

CAUTION
The magnet generator is designed to operate at second speed only. In first gear, the generator will not develop the rated voltage. In third and fourth speed, the generator may be seriously damage by excessive speed.
